These observations are not five equivalent experiments. Project size, crew, weather and scope are not standardised, so taking their mean would create false precision. They are useful prompts for discussing a programme with your chosen roofer.
Which clock is being quoted?

Request the roofing start date, expected on-site duration and likely scaffold removal date separately. A roof can be finished while access remains for painting or windows, and an early scaffold installation does not mean the roof work has started.
What should the weather plan cover?
Ask who decides whether work proceeds, how forecasts are considered, how partially completed work is protected, and how a delay changes the programme. Those practical details are more useful than a promise to finish within a fixed number of days regardless of conditions.
Do not assume an occupied home must be completely uncovered at once. Ask the contractor to explain the sequence and protection plan for your building, rather than applying a generic installation sequence from an article.
How does timing affect scaffold cost?
Read the hire period in the scaffold quote. RoofHub’s detailed estimator models four included weeks and additional weekly hire, but that is a planning convention, not a standard offer from every scaffolder. Confirm when hire starts, minimum periods and who authorises extensions.
The number of roofing days cannot by itself determine rental cost. If access is erected before roofing, or retained for other work, its hire clock can be longer.

- The emergency contact and temporary-weather-protection plan.
